Les Dawson – Cissie & Ada – The Magic Of Travel

Les & Roy are thinking of treating themselves to a short break! I love these classic clips, and it’s wonderful to see how many people from around the world also enjoy seeing the late great Les too. Perhaps someone from the BBC will take note and release a DVD of these gems. Great comedy will live on forever…

    I had a sudden urge to look up Cissie and Ada and I am so glad I did. I remember this from my childhood, but I think I can only really appreciate them now that I’m grown-up.

    I am shaking with laughter. If I watched more comedy like this, I’d have laughter lines.

    Just love how Les Dawson just has to walk in as Ada to get a laugh. It reminds me so much of Benny Hill as Fredd Skuttle.

    how are you to a female

  36. kidi1232 says:

    @rotemsh1 biblical hebrew and modern hebrew are more alike than modern english & middle english.

    hebrew was influenced by english, but also from arabic. and almost not at all from german and russian.

    hebrew is very similar to arabic and it is a semitic language by all means.

  37. UpstandingCitzen says:

    @midleground “not all jews hate muslims and not all muslims hate jews”

    Why do you say this like it’s a big deal? Jews and Muslims have lived side by side in peace for thousands of years.

  38. DieUglyWomen says:

    Why is the guy with the fro so pissed?

  39. look4hiram says:

    Give that poor guy a cup of coffee! Looks like he was woke up at 2 AM and forced to do this video! But, the video is good; thanks for posting.

  40. JardinOz says:

    “How are you?” to a female is “Mah ShlomECH?”

  41. Shanniquitie says:

    @rotemsh1 opinions are not confirmed by scholars! i dont understand why you are so hostile to the arabic connection, maybe you are racist (i hope not!!) but they are both beautiful languages. other semitic languages are ge’ez, amharic and maltese (which is the only semitic language that is official in the European Union). english and german are both germanic languages at the root – italian, french and spanish are all romance (from latin), and arabic and hebrew are both semitic.

  42. rotemsh1 says:

    @Shanniquitie maybe the biblic hebrew is semtic but the spoken one is not! it influnce be european languages! yiddish german and russian the most! and the biggest influnce was by the English! i would say that hebrew is far from arabic with out any douts about it!
    by the way it is stupid what you have just said cuz you can take romanian and spanish who are both latinian languages but there is a big difference between them! or german and english….

  43. Shanniquitie says:

    @rotemsh1 hebrew and arabic are sister languages…they are both semitic

  44. rotemsh1 says:

    @ageage123
    don’t teach me please! i’m a hebrew speaker who learnt arabic for 4 years so please, listen to me arabic and hebrew are far away from being close! it’s like said english and polish are close cuz of the same grammer so do a favore and not embrace yourself!

  45. ageage123 says:

    @rotemsh1 arabic and hebrew are like 2 sisters…. sure you can dislike one and not the other… but why???

  46. rotemsh1 says:

    @azkeyz
    modern hebrew influnced by the english and european languagess nothing to do with arabic man!

  47. rotemsh1 says:

    @ageage123 ahhh why do you think so hebrew and arabic are so different!
    the grammar is the only think that is close!
    the words the letters the sounds the LANGUAGE! are different!
    try to listen to hebrew songs and then to arabs you will get me……if you are arabic speaker you won’t understand hebrew and if you are hebrew speaker you won’t understand arabic!!

  48. rotemsh1 says:

    @ViburnumVampire
    you’r totally right,,,,

  49. eggbaax says:

    @beatz02 hahaha

  50. ViburnumVampire says:

    It’s actually kinda funny, we don’t use the word Shalom that often, most of the time we use it when we refer to peace and definitely not when we want to say goodbye! that sound just wrong. Use Lehitraot or Lehit if you want to say goodbye..
